How to make your own soothing face cream at home
Gentle Aromatherapy Recipe
This soothing aromatherapy-based recipe is easy to make. It is gentle enough to use on the skin of young children and those with sensitive skin. The plant based ingredients are quickly absorbed by the skin. The cream is light, designed to avoid leaving a feeling of greasiness.
My 8 year old son tends to get dry skin when the weather transitions between the seasons, just as mine did when I was young. This cream is something he can use when needed. It does not irritate his skin and is lovely and light for his young skin. I don’t believe children generally need to use any sort of cream on their skin but those prone to dry skin could benefit from adhoc usage.

Good quality ingredients are important as they are being applied to your skin, in this case, to your face. Please read this information I put together about sourcing good quality ingredients for your hand made skin care. Ensure you are using high quality pure essential oils, not fragrance oils.
Important information :
This recipe includes naturally sourced ingredients, despite this it is still possible for one or more ingredients to be unsuitable for some people. If you experience any reaction or discomfort (as with any product, or food) discontinue use immediately.
This product does not contain a preservative and so as a result does not have along shelf life. You may seek out a product called Amiox which is a rosemary extract, this will add to the storage life of hand made skin care.
If you have a health condition (including pregnancy) do not use essential oils without consulting a qualified therapist. Essential oils are highly concentrated, at approximately 70 times stronger than the plant that they came from. They should only be used as directed, or upon the advice of a trained practitioner. Essential oils must be stored out of reach of children.
This recipe is provided for educational purposes. It should not be considered as health advice.

Hi there, if unable to source emulsifying wax, could one use beeswax as an emulsifying agent instead?
Thank you
Hi Debbie,
you you could do that. You just may not get as smooth an emulsion.
