Vanilla Lime Hand Cream
This velvety smooth, luscious hand cream will be gone in a matter or days as you will not be able to stop applying it. The smell is divine and it leaves your skin feeling soft and lovely and fresh. You can make it at home with this recipe.
The recipe is based on (but not the same as) a product that I used to make and sell, many many years ago under my label “Essential Care”.
The picture below is of me in the (old) days of “Essential Care” spruiking my wares. Eeek look at the big hair! I thought you might get a giggle out of that.
Making Creams
Creams are made by combining a fat phase and water phase where both are at the same (or very similar temperatures).
You will need to use a thermometer to check the temperatures when you make this cream. Other than that it is very simple.
Raw Materials
If you are going to spend time making your own skin care products, ensure that you are using high quality ingredients. Otherwise you may as well purchase an generic item from the supermarket.
It can be a challenge to find high quality raw materials and essential oils.
Oils should be:
All other ingredients should be organic if possible.
I have done the homework for you and provide a link here for access to the materials I use now, and used when I was producing my own range of skin care products. They are therapeutic quality ingredients.
You will find all of the ingredients that you need here. *
Ingredient Properties:
This recipe includes naturally sourced ingredients, despite this it is still possible for one or more ingredients to be unsuitable for some people. If you experience any reaction or discomfort (as with any product, or food) you should discontinue use immediately.
If you have a health condition (including pregnancy) do not use essential oils without consulting a qualified therapist. Essential oils are highly concentrated, at approximately 70 times stronger than the plant that they came from. They should only be used as directed, or upon the advice of a trained practitioner. Essential oils must be stored out of reach of children. This recipe is provided for educational purposes. It should not be considered as health advice.

This sounds absolutely luscious!! I’ve been collecting ingredients to make my own lotion and have nearly everything you’ve listed!! Just need to get some sandalwood oil and almond oil and I’ll be set.
You can always substitute to other oils you have Krista, these are just the ones I chose.
