Kyrstie’s dream is for all Australian families to grow at least one fresh food item at home and to experience the benefits that this brings. This book has been written to help more people get started on this journey and to explore where it may lead.

Grow Just One Thing – The first step in a fresh food journey is the debut book of Kyrstie Barcak. Founder of A Fresh Legacy.

Grow Just One Thing will teach you how to grow, how to make the most of your kitchen as part of your new approach to food, and how to use your home grown food in delicious, simple recipes the whole family will enjoy.

It will help you to create efficient systems and spaces for storing, planning and cooking your meals.

What people are saying:

People constantly tell me that they don’t have enough time to do the things they would love to do – like grow and nourish a vegetable garden. That is what I love most about Grow Just One Thing – Kyrstie Barcak meets this objection head on by not only providing all the information you need to establish a simple (or more complicated) garden, but also by providing terrific time saving ideas such as streamlined family based meal planning, smart cooking, how and where to shop online, recipes and quick tips. You need to make the time to do the things you love – put reading Grow Just One Thing on your list. As Kyrstie states ‘growing one thing takes no time at all.

Founder and Director Time Stylers and best-selling author of Me Time: The Professional Woman’s Guide to finding 30 guilt-free hours a month.

Starting their first food garden can daunt the novice! The prospect seems confronting, complex and very uncertain. The garden centre provides too many choices without any basis to make them. So do how-to-garden books and garden magazines. Kyrstie Barcak’s book helps the novice get started. It encourages and provides basic direction. The new gardener usually has no idea of how important a garden can be to the family’s health. Kyrstie’s book brilliantly inspires. If you are a reluctant new gardener, this book could be the one to get you going.”

Author of several gardening books including Gardening When it Counts, Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades and The Intelligent Gardener. The founder of the Territorial Seed Company he is retired and lives in Tasmania where he grows all his own vegetables and mentors two start up seed companies.
