Honey Mustard

Very easy to make, this mustard makes a lovely addition to the Christmas table this festive season. Make your own honey mustard with this simple recipe.

  • 150 grams mustard seeds - I used yellow
  • 90 grams brown sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons dried tarragon
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 9 grinds pepper
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons honey
  • 100 ml malt vinegar
  • 50 ml chardonnay vinegar


  1. To a food processor/blender add all of the ingredients except the vinegars and pulse for a couple of minutes to combine
  2. Slowly add the vinegars and continue to mix in the processor until well combined
  3. All the mixture to sit for 12-24 hours
  4. Pot into steralised jars and seal
  5. Use within approximately 12 weeks and store in the fridge

The quantity in this recipe made four jars of mustard for my Foodie Secret Santa recipients (including one for me!) You may wish to start of by halving the recipe.
