Skin Cleansing Lotion

An all purpose DIY Aromatherapy skin care lotion for cleansing and moisturising. Perfect for travel or to gift for Fathers Day to the man who has a no fuss approach.

Ingredients

Fat Phase:

  • 7 grams Beeswax
  • 30 grams Almond oil
  • 50 grams Grapeseed oil
  • 5 grams Coconut oil

Water Phase

  • 90 ml water - boiled and cooled
  • 2 drops Chamomile Roman essential oil
  • 2 drops Geranium essential oil

Instructions

  1. Add the ingredients for the fat phase to a bowl that can sit in the top of a saucepan that has a small amount of water in the base with out the base of the bowl touching the water
  2. Set the saucepan of water to a gentle simmer with the ingredient sitting in the bowl on top
  3. Once the fats have almost dissolve remove from the heat and stir until the last pieces dissolve
  4. Add the water very slowly, a few drops at a time while using a hand blender to combine
  5. Continue to add the water until it is well combined and the cream is the consistency of a lotion
  6. Add to a steralised jar or container
  7. Use within a month and store in a cool location. This cream contains no preservative. it can not be stored long term.

Recipe Notes

Steralise jars used by either - washing them in the dishwasher prior to use, or placing them for 15 minutes in an oven set to 120 degrees celcius (allow to cool prior to using)
You may also place the containers in a pot of water, bring it to boil for 5-8 minutes and dry thoroughly prior to filling.
Use clean equipment at all times - use boiling water to rinse any stirring and blending equipment prior to use.
Do not heat the fat phase above 70 degrees celcius
