Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
  • 50 grams Cocoa Butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon Macadamia Oil
  • 20 grams Shea Butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon raw honey
  • 2 sprigs fresh Rosemary
  • 1 sprig fresh Sage

Instructions

  1. Fill a saucepan with water to about 1/3 full and set to boil
  2. Put a bowl that fits over the top of the saucepan (without touching the water) and add all of the ingredients except the honey to the bowl on top of the saucepan
  3. Melt the ingredients over a very low heat, slowly
  4. Stir gently to assist them to dissolve
  5. Once dissolved to a liquid, remove from the heat and set aside to cool (for at least one hour) Leave the herbs to steep in the liquid
  6. Add the honey once the liquid has cooled down and stir to combine
  7. While the ingredients are still in a liquid form - remove the herbs and discard and pour the liquid into a mold - eg: a plastic container and place in the fridge to set.
  8. Once set the bar can be removed from the container by gently rubbing around the outside of the container with your hands. The heat generated from your hands will release the bar.
  9. Store in a cool location - this may need to be in the fridge if you live in a tropical climate.
  10. To use simply rub straight onto the skin as you would a bar of soap

Recipe Notes

**When heating the oils do not exceed 40 degree celcius
If you need to travel with the body bar, place it in a container incase it becomes exposed to heat.
If the bar melts in warm weather reset it in a container and return to the fridge to set. Store below 30 degrees at all times.
The honey will tend to settle at the top of the bar. Remove it by rubbing it on to your skin or washing it off under the tap using just tepid water. It is lovely to use on your skin but it will be a little tacky feeling until it is absorbed.
If you experience any irritation using a skin care product, discontinue use immediately.
