Ingredients

Fat Phase

  • 5 grams almond oil
  • 5 grams avocado oil
  • 5 grams shea butter
  • 10 grams cocoa butter
  • 5 grams apricot kernal oil
  • 12 grams emulsifying wax

Water Phase

  • 184 grams boiled (cooled) water

Essential Oils & Additions

  • 10 drops Rosehip oil
  • 4 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop Eucalyptus essential oil
  • 2 drops Chamomile Roman
  • 2 drops Chamomile German

Instructions

  1. Measure out the ingredients for the Fat Phase into a bowl (that can be placed over a saucepan of water without the ingredient bowl base touching the water).
  2. Allow the fat phase ingredients to melt over a low heat. *They should not be heated above 70 degrees Celsius
  3. Weigh out the boiled (cooled water). It is easiest to add it to a measuring jug
  4. Pour the melted fat phase ingredients into a large Pyrex jug (or similar) Use a stick blender to blend the ingredients, adding the water in a slow steady stream
  5. Continue to blend until the mixture has cooled and thickens to the consistency of whipped cream
  6. Add and then stir in the rose hip oil and essential oils
  7. Pot into steralised jars (see notes)
  8. Use within a few weeks, keep in a cool location out of direct heat.
  9. This recipe makes approximately 200 ml of cream

Recipe Notes

Note: Measurements are important, all are in GRAMS including liquid ingredients.
Jars can be steralised via the dishwasher on a hot cycle or by placing them into a saucepan of water that is brought to the boil and boiled for 5-8 minutes and then drained upside down on a clean cloth. The third option is to do so via the oven set to 120 degrees celcius for 15 minutes - if the lid is not plastic. If the lid is plastic use the boiling method.
