Pulled Pork

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp paprika sweet
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp fresh turmeric grated
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp celery seed
  • 1 400 ml tin tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1.2 kg pork

Instructions

  1. Turn on the oven to 120 degrees celcius to heat.

  2. To a pan that can be used on the stove top and in the oven, add the oil and spices and heat until the oil melts and the spices are fragrant

  3. Stir and add the pork, rolling to coat and brown on each side

  4. Add the tomato and water and bring to a simmer

  5. Add to the oven and cook for 5 hours at 120 degrees celcius

  6. Check periodically to ensure that water remains in the dish, add more water if necesssary

  7. When pieces of meat come away from the main piece of meat when pulled remove from the oven and set aside to cool for 5-10 minutes

  8. Using tongs or two forks, pull apart the meat, shredding it into small pieces

  9. Add the meat to a bowl and serve with sides of your choice
