I started my first brick laying job today. I don’t want to get too excited in case it all falls apart but I think I did ok for my first try 😆 I only had one bag of mortar mix in the shed so will wait and see how it holds up then work out more supplies.

The garden is always evolving. We tidied and made

The garden is always evolving. We tidied and made paths around the garden beds recently. One of the beds then distintegrated! It was no surprise as untreated timber will not last forever, but not well planned as I should have noted it was coming prior to starting the work.
I gave my teen and pre-teen a hammer and shovel each and it was dismantled pretty quickly before the icy rain started.
I plan to rebuild each raised bed in old red bricks as each of the current ones are removed. The space will then be replanned with different spacing and I’ll redo some of the edging and path area that I’m not 100% happy with. Staying occupied at home during lockdown(s) is transforming the backyard 😆
