One of my boys favorite meals is home made baked beans. I make them at least once a month and usually have a spare children’s serve stashed in the freezer for a weekend or Friday night dinner. This recipe was originally inspired by a Jamie Oliver recipe. I tend to modify it every time I make it now by adding different vegetables, depending what I have available to use from the vegetable garden.
Home made baked beans make a fabulous Winter breakfast served on crusty fresh bread, with an egg on top and some fresh baby spinach leaves. My children also like to eat these beans with pasta. The serving size is generous, I generally freeze a serve to have as a back up quick meal or a work lunch for Mr Fresh.
Are they “baked” beans? I’m not sure? They are not baked but that’s what we call them here at our place.

yum! they look like the best baked beans ever! I wish my kids would eat beans like this. Two would but the one that wouldn’t would also be able to convince the others to do the same. Sigh.
That looks like a yummy recipe. Will try it for sure. We love beans at Crash Palace!
