Brauer Naturals Baby Bath and Body Range Giveaway

*Sponsored Post

Baby Bath time

Ready, Set Go……… The starting call of a rubber duck race. Or an attempt to release the poor little critters from tightly clasped fingers. This week these little ducks have been the toys of choice. They have been taken to bed, to the shops and spend most of their day involved in one activity or another.

Bath time at our house is very much like meal time. I have a preference for natural and fresh products.

Both of my children have mild eczema. This makes them prone to very dry and irritated skin. As a result of this I generally avoid using any products on their skin – with the exception of Paw Paw ointment or a plant based oil such as Almond Oil and the essential oils that I combine as required.

Something that you may not know about me is that (a long time ago) I was a qualified, practicing Aromatherapist. I developed, created and sold my own range of natural skin care products that were completely plant based. This experience provided me with an understanding of, and aversion to, many ingredients that are used in skin care products.

Prior to our holiday to Italy, I attended an event that allowed bloggers and brands to meet. One of the brands I met on the day was Brauer.    This is a bonus for you as they have very generously provided a $250 gift pack for me to give away to one lucky reader PLUS a 20% discount voucher that can be printed and used to purchase any (or all) of the new Brauer Naturals Baby Bath and Body Range at Woolworth stores. Read on………..

Brauer Discount Voucher.jpg

Brauer is not a new brand to me.  I used the Brauer Baby and Child products for colic and teething relief for both of my boys when they were babies. I found the teething product to be a great alternative to giving the boys Panadol when they required relief from the pain.    We are also dedicated users of Brauer Paw Paw Ointment. I always have a small tube in my handbag, plus a large tub in the bathroom. Along with my trusty Lavender oil it is my personal “cure-all” for the family. The Paw Paw based Lip Shimmers have also found themselves a permanent space in my handbag.

I was happy to try the Brauer Naturals Baby Bath and Body Range products as they claim to be suitable for eczema, plus my previous experience with the brand’s products was positive. I am pleased to report that the boys love using the products (possibly sweetened by the collectable cute rubber ducks that currently come with the range!!)

None of the products have irritated the sensitive skin of my children.  The Soft Skin Lotion is working well to reduce the characteristic dryness of eczema-prone skin. I have to admit that I have also been sneaking some lotion for my own very dry hands also.

Note: If you have a family member with eczema (or suffer yourself) you will know that something that works for one person will not necessarily work for another. The products have worked beautifully for us. You will need to make your own judgement for you and your family.

The products we have been using are:

  • Baby Bath and Body Wash
  • Baby Sleepytime Bath – we love this one! The lovely calming oils of Chamomile Roman, Neroli and Lavender have been favorites here prior to trying the products. The added bonus is that the fragrance relaxes me while I sit with the kids as they have their bath.
  • Baby Shampoo
  • Baby Soft Skin Lotion

also included in the range is a Nappy Balm and Massage Oil.

My sons (who are now 6 and 7) have always loved playing “lets drive Mum crazy by splashing as much water as possible out of the bath”. My 14 month old daughter however is much more pleasant and adorably just sits and plays with the bath toys, dunking them and chewing on all of them. I guess I don’t need to tell you I am entering this for her and NOT my crazy boys hehe! Thank you! Monique x

PS. I already liked the Brauer FB page and have liked yours as well now too 🙂

We have coloured drops that we put into containers and play make that colour. She then mixes the different colours to see what colour they make. It has really improved her knowledge of all the different colours

My thirty two year old daughter still has a bathroom filled with rubber ducks of all shapes and sizes! The favourite game at the moment for my grandchildren (maybe we become more tolerant as grandmothers) is “waterfall” This involves a hand held shower spray and pretty much every surface of the bathroom. Thank you for the coupon, I might use it to try out the pawpaw lip shimmer.

My boys love to make giant ice blocks with toy bugs or dinosaurs inside. These are then placed in the bath to defrost slowly or be chipped away at with various ‘tools.’ At the conclusion of bath time the boys happily refil their containers and dash to the freezer in preparation for the next bath!

As a mum of three aged 8 and under
Bathtime’s so much fun, is it any wonder?!
The most enjoyable bath game, its a unanimous vote
A wonderful game called “Sink or Float”
Various items are bought into the tub to see
If they’ll hit the bottom or float happily
    Sponges, blocks, toys, and boats
All play the game in what sinks and what floats!

  • bubble936 June 7, 2013, 11:07 am

My 10 months old loves to play with his bath toys especially ducks and loves me to sing rhymes for him.

  • bubble936 June 7, 2013, 11:08 am

I have liked Brauer Facebook Page and A Fresh Legacy Facebook Page.

  • Brods June 7, 2013, 12:19 pm

Mine love to splash!! Or sink the boat

  • anita mclennan June 7, 2013, 5:46 pm

my sons and I both enjoy paying hairdressers in the bath. We wash our hair and then spike our hair up in funny shapes, the game kicks up a notch when we also use the bath crayons and skin crayons and decorate ourselves right into character!! It’s so fun they don’t want to hop out!

  • Kim m June 7, 2013, 9:20 pm

My kids lve playing in a bath full of bubbles, giving themselves “Santa” beards, and if they are being really good, I draw smiley faces on the tiles which they love playing with and scubbing the bath with.

    I like botages on facebook

  • Wendy S June 9, 2013, 4:59 pm

My toddler likes to play “let’s see how wet we can make the bathroom”
    She’s a splasher!

  • Twinkle in the Eye June 10, 2013, 10:08 am

It there anything more fun than splashing?! Left to his own devices I have to wipe water from the ceiling! We are learning the art of gentle splashing and kicking under water – much less work for me!

  • Stef June 10, 2013, 10:21 am

    Let’s squirt Mummy!
    Is my littlies favourite game,
Every night I beg and plead,
but they do it still the same!

  • JILL MACMULLEN June 10, 2013, 10:28 am

Bath time in our house is chaotic and fun,
kids are splashing in the bubbles,
then there’s cleaning to be done.
You see they like to play a game,
it’s called “who’s hiding in the bubbles?”,
and a cookie the winner claims!!
The fun is in the bubbles,
    they tickle the kids skin,
they like to put them on their face
so they dangle from their chin.
My job is to guess their name,
“are you a scary lion?” I say,
laughter will fill the house – its their favourite game.
    Water will hit the ceiling,
and bubbles will cover the walls,
half the suds go in their eyes,
and half go on the floor.
    The kids splash water everywhere,
but the bubbles will pop and disappear,
this signals an end to bath time play,
because they’ve made the water clear.

  • Gemma Westacott Blair June 10, 2013, 11:45 pm

At 8 months our little man has just learnt the wonder of water.
He’s simply amazed watching it pour from the hands of our daughter.
He giggles and squeals as he tries to catch a few drops.
Looking slightly confused when the trickle eventually stops.
And while Miss Three is happy to keep her brother entertained,
She also loves playing with the numerous ducks she’s obtained.
She loves making them dive, duck and weave around the bath,
All the time giving her little brother an even bigger laugh.
So cute to see them playing happily alongside each other,
Makes me one very happy, beaming mother!

  • Linda June 11, 2013, 9:49 am

Octonauts is the current favourite. One is Kwazii, the other is captain Barnacles. They act out emergencies in very dramatic, urgent tones. I stand just outside the door listening and having a bit of a giggle!

  • Renee Rayment June 11, 2013, 11:18 am

My 13 mth old only plays lets pul off how many toys we can pull of the bath wall and lets help mummy wash the floor with all the excess water he has splashed every where!

  • S-Maz June 11, 2013, 2:18 pm

Sadly, we don’t have a bath but we do have a shower!

Their favourite game is the good-ol bit-of-shampoo-in-a-bucket-of-water-toy-enjoying-a-spa trick. Their second favourite (manipulated by me) game is “see this brush? let’s scrub the shower with it!” game!

  • Aileen June 11, 2013, 2:39 pm

Although my 2 year old and 3 year old enjoy the bath the most pleasure and fascination they get is from watching the water draining down the plug hole. It is amazing. A least two minutes of silence with them entranced by that every single bathtime.

  • Narelle Rock June 11, 2013, 2:48 pm

My kids just love blowing bubbles in the water, as well as blowing bubble bath bubbles all over the bathroom!

  • Alison Wilson June 11, 2013, 2:52 pm

My 3 love it when I blow bubbles for them with my hands and some velvet soap. My mum used to do it for me, and her grandma for her… it’s like our little mummy secret! The girls think that when they are mums they’ll be able to do it.

  • Charmaine Campbell June 11, 2013, 2:52 pm

Just splashing in the water mostly, but my daughter likes to pour water from jugs and buckets. My son used to enjoy splashing water all over the bathroom until it started dripping through the tiles into the roof cavity (double story house).

  • Nicole Zois June 11, 2013, 2:52 pm

My 3 kids (6yrs, 2.5yrs and 1yr) think it’s fun to see who can get me the wettest. They splash me when I’m not looking and blame each other for it.

  • Stacey Shailer June 11, 2013, 3:21 pm

My toddler son loves the ‘washing the baby’ game, where he ‘helps’ me wash his 3 month old sister in the bath. I prefer that to the game of ‘blowing bum bubbles in the water’ that his father has taught him!

  • Kaz Purtill-Wright June 11, 2013, 3:34 pm

So my kids have this Fisher Price boat and the captain but using it as a boat isn’t that fun apparently! They sink it to the bottom of the bath and it’s a ‘surrine’ (submarine) and the captain is the drowning victim and the kids are the underwater life savers who have to diver down to rescue him. If you can imagine, little bodies thrashing around in the water pretending to be divers make a HUGE mess on my bathroom floor. But it keeps them entertained and as a bonus, their hair is already wet when I go to wash it.

  • Angie Boylan June 11, 2013, 3:41 pm

My boys play wiggly worms in the bath, while the water is draining they slide around the tub screaming wiggly worm!! It’s hilarious to watch

  • Kim Featherstone June 11, 2013, 3:42 pm

My girls play with their animals in the bath, lately they use the bridge for the animals to walk across with the ducks and the dolphins swim below.. they love it and it keeps them amused for about 20 mins..
